Hi, I’m Elliot Baker, the founder and editor of ‘Musings of a Young Gourmet’. I started this blog when I was twelve-years-old and now I’m a seventeen-year-old boy with a passion for cooking and gourmet dining. My goal is to become a food/sports journalist, so this blog is a place where I can practise writing about food and hopefully over time, you will be able to see improvements in my writing.
I have experienced gourmet cooking at its best, having done work experience at Brisbane’s award winning restaurants Urbane/Euro, e’cco, Esquire, The Long Apron, Spring, Tank, Cinco, Gerard’s, Stokehouse, Bistro One Eleven and Public. I thank these restaurants for letting me into their kitchen and mentoring me throughout my experience.
I have also been lucky enough to dine with and talk with some of my favourite food writers/critics including Margie Fraser (QWeekend reviewer), Lizzie Loel (Courier Mail reviewer), Tony Harper (Brisbane News reviewer), John Lethlean (The Australian Reviewer) and David Prior (Vogue) who I thank very much.
The blog will primarily consist of restaurant reviews but will also feature some travel writing and my favorite recipes.
I hope you enjoy,
